The first has more discomfort and downtime but provides quicker results, whilst the other is virtually pain free with no downtime but results take longer to become apparent. The energy settings are customised and treatment is designed specifically to the patient’s skin and condition.
Patients often describe the sensation during a Venus Viva treatment as tolerable and similar to a warm, prickling feeling. The majority of patients find the procedure to be relatively comfortable, and any discomfort is usually mild.
The practitioner will move the handpiece across the treatment area in either a circular or stamping pattern. At the completion of the treatment a growth factor and soothing gel is applied to the skin. Multiple treatment sessions may be required for optimal results.

Expectations:
• Immediately following the procedure it is normal to experience a feeling similar to mild sunburn
• It is normal to experience heat, redness and skin dryness which may last 1-2 hours.
Downtime:
• There is minimal downtime for this treatment. Redness and swelling will reduce after 2 days.
• Complete healing can take up to 2 weeks.
• Itching and flaking is common. Your skin will naturally exfoliate as the reorganised skin replaces dead tissue.
