Plasma Skin Resurfacing (PSR)

Plasma Skin Resurfacing (PSR)

Plasma skin resurfacing is a non-invasive facial resurfacing and tightening treatment that uses a device to deliver controlled plasma energy to the skin's surface. This helps eliminate excessive tissue that causes sagging skin, unwanted wrinkles, stretch marks and improve overall skin texture and tone.

Key Features of Plasma Skin Resurfacing (PSR)

FAQS

  • • Skin Laxity

    • Sun Damage

    • Wrinkles

    • Fine lines

  • Stimulates Collagen Production: Plasma energy stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, promoting skin tightening and overall skin rejuvenation.

Tightens Loose Skin: The skin tightening effect of plasma energy can lead to a reduction in mild to moderate skin laxity, especially in areas like the neck and jawline.

Reduces Wrinkles and Lines: The treatment is effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and crow's feet, leading to a smoother and more youthful appearance.

  • During the treatment plasma energy is transferred in the form of a cloud of electrons to the treated area without direct contact to the skin.

Patients may experience a warm or tingling sensation during the procedure, along with a mild prickling or stinging feeling.

A greasy moisturiser such as petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or similar will be applied to the treated area. You may require a number of treatments (1-4) depending upon the desired outcome.

  • Expectations:
    • After the treatment, the patient will feel a burning sensation for approximately one to two days.

    • Swelling may also occur but it is only temporary.

    Downtime:
A generous amount of a greasy moisturiser such as petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or similar needs to be re applied before going to bed and used several times daily until healing is complete after about 1 week.

Healing is usually quite rapid. Redness and erythema will develop after the procedure and the duration of this will depend on the energy utilised and the individual skin type.

    • The treated area will continue to gradually improve for up to twelve months after the procedure.
