LED Light Therapy

LED light therapy uses a range of light wavelengths ranging from blue to green, yellow, red and near-infrared to target specific skin concerns. LED treatments can help address skin concerns such as acne congestion, facial redness, pigmentation, uneven tone, neck lines, wrinkles and signs of ageing. Red light therapy helps to promote healing and decrease the visibility of acne scarring.

  • Red Light: Red light stimulates collagen production, which helps improve skin elasticity, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and promote skin rejuvenation.

Blue Light: Blue light has antibacterial properties and targets the bacteria responsible for causing acne breakouts. It helps reduce inflammation and redness associated with acne-prone skin.

Green Light: Green light targets melanocytes, the cells responsible for producing melanin, and can help even out skin tone and reduce pigmentation irregularities.

Yellow Light: Yellow light promotes lymphatic flow, reducing redness and flushing, and improving skin circulation.

  • As the LED light therapy device is activated, the patient will feel a gentle, warm sensation on the skin. Unlike laser treatments, LED light therapy does not produce heat, and the sensation is generally very mild and soothing. LED light therapy is a non-invasive and painless procedure, so patients can relax and even close their eyes during the session.

If multiple wavelengths of LED light are used during the session (e.g., red, blue, green), the device may switch between them to target different skin concerns effectively.

The LED light therapy session typically lasts between 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the specific treatment protocol and the skin concerns being addressed.

  • Expectations & Downtime:

    • After the LED light therapy session, there is no downtime, and patients can immediately resume their daily activities.

    • Some patients may experience mild redness or warmth in the treated area, but this typically subsides quickly within minutes to an hour after the session.

    • LED light therapy provides gradual and cumulative results over time. Patients may start noticing improvements in their skin texture, tone, and overall appearance after a series of treatments.

    • There is no need for recovery time, and patients can even apply makeup or skincare products after the treatment if desired.

  • LED treatments are safe, comfortable and suitable for all skin types. During consultation, your clinician will discuss a treatment plan tailored to your individual skin concerns.

  • LED treatments are restorative by nature and will optimise results when paired with other skincare-based and technology-enhanced treatments.
