Aside from her private practice, Dr Yap is a Consultant Dermatologist at the St Vincent's Hospital Multidisciplinary Skin Lymphoma Clinic, Complex Dermatology / Psoriasis / Biologic Therapies Clinic and the Skin Cancer Triage Clinic. She has been a visiting specialist at the Alfred Hospital and the Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) Clinic at the Skin Health Institute.
Dr Yap graduated in Medicine with Honours from the University of Melbourne. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD) in 2005 and trained at St Vincent's Hospital, The Alfred, Monash Medical Centre, Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Skin Health Institute. In 2006, she commenced private practice at the Dermatology Institute of Victoria with Professor Greg Goodman and at Kew Dermatology with Dr Peter Sinclair.
Dr Yap has multiple scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and is actively involved in medical education and training of dermatology trainees, general practitioners and nurses. She is regularly invited to speak at national and international educational meetings and conferences. Her dermatology college representations include being appointed to the Executive Committee and Faculty Secretary of the Victorian Faculty of Dermatologists. She is an active member of the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists.
